Sunny is a globally acclaimed, critically renowned novelist, and internationally reputed academic. She is recognised as a pre-eminent decolonizing public intellectual. She is Professor of Creative Writing and Inclusion in the Arts at the London Metropolitan University. Sunny is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. She founded the celebrated Jhalak Prize for literature by writers of colour. She has written several award-winning books. Her latest book is Refuge – Stories of War (and Love).
