Episode 24 Ruhi Snyder
On Rest in the Time of Apocalypse
Ruhi is an interdisciplinary researcher, educator, and advocate. As a health care worker in the field of sleep medicine for two decades, she initiated a decade long pioneering study “The Slow Violence of Shift Work”. This investigated the role of self-regulation, exercise, diet, and shift schedules in mitigating shift workers’ skewed circadian rhythms.
She is the founder of “ruhisleep” and “Naptor” - dedicated to advocacy and public education. She is also the host and the creator of Sleep and Society Podcast. Through the lens of biomedical sciences, the humanities, economics, and human rights, these platforms examine the science, nature, and importance of sleep.
Her current focus is on the care and the treatment of severe to very severe ME and Long-COVID.
