Ruth is a multiple award-winning writer and academic of Fantasy based in Glasgow, Scotland. Winner of the BSFA Award for Best Short Fiction, her fiction can be found in the likes of ParSec magazine, The Dark magazine and Pseudopod. Ruth’s quarterly column for SF magazine Shoreline of Infinity, ‘Noise and Sparks’, has received the British Fantasy Award for Best Non-Fiction. Her co-edited issue of the British Fantasy Society Journal on Fantasy and Gaming was published in Autumn 2024. Ruth is currently studying for a SGSAH-funded PhD in Creative Writing, focussing on portrayals of toxicity in genre fiction.
